Yes, your customers will be entering their credit card information on a secure server which encrypts the credit card information, sends the encrypted information to the issuing bank for approval or decline, then informs the customer whether the transaction was approved or declined. |

| What is an SSL certified secure web server? | |
A web server allows web files to be made available over the internet. An SSL certificate authenticates that the server is secure, which means that transmission of confidential information between two servers is encrypted and cannot be tampered with. In North America the standard encryption protocol is SSL, which stands for Secure Socket Layer. SSL certificates are issued by certifying authorities who validate the certificate holder's identity. The certificate will be digitally signed by the certifying authority, and will have an expiry date. |

Yes, if your secure server is hosted by your ISP you are able to integrate our online payment solution. The integration process will likely require your ISP to make some technical changes on their end. It is a good idea to have your ISP review the different solutions available in the Merchant Integration Kit. |

| What is a SET transaction? | |
Secure Electronic Transactions (SET) is a protocol that uses digital certificates, called wallets, to verify that the consumer and the merchant are both authorized to use and accept credit cards. The SET wallet is stored on each device (PC, laptop, wireless) that the consumer uses to carry out transactions. The consumer's credit card is provided to the credit card issuer for settlement without the merchant ever seeing the number. The online transaction is the equivalent of a card-present transaction. |

| What is a 3D Secure transaction? | |
3D Secure is a Visa-authenticated payment program that is in development. It verifies that the consumer and the merchant are both authorized to use and accept credit cards. Customers that have enrolled in the program enter a password (PIN number) to authenticate themselves. The consumer's credit card is provided to the credit card issuer for settlement without the merchant ever seeing the number. The online transaction is the equivalent of a card-present transaction.
